Chan -Ro Young
Young-chan Ro was born and raised in South Korea and graduated from Yonsei University and he holds a Master of Theology degree from Union Theological Seminary (Richmond, Virginia) and a Ph.D. in Religious Studies from the University of California at Santa Barbara. Young has authored The Korean Neo-Confucianism of Yi Yulgok (State University of New York Press) and co-authored The Four-Seven Debate: An Annotated Translation of the Most Famous Controversy in Korean Neo-Confucian Thought (State University of New York). He has written numerous articles in the areas of comparative religion, Korean Confucianism, Korean religions, and Korean Christianity. Young was Co-Chair of the Korean Religions Group in the American Academy of Religion and the President of the Association of Korean Christian Scholars in North America. He is a professor of Religious Studies and director of Liberal Studies at George Mason University (Fairfax).
